Our core art program for kids allows young creatives to become well-rounded artists by shuffling projects across a variety of medium and subject matter. Students engage in One River School’s innovative curriculum inspired by contemporary artists that stimulates their imagination and helps them develop essential technical skills in a fun classroom environment.

ART FOCUS®: Cartooning (Grades 3-5)
This class is designed for students in Grades 3-5 who want to learn the fundamentals of cartooning and illustration through fun projects that stimulate their imagination. Students draw inspiration from cartoonists and illustrators from around the world as they develop their own cartooning style.
- Compelling projects explore character design, comic-book creation and help students develop dynamic storylines
- Teacher-led demos teach students how to use illustration markers, brush pens/fine liners, and watercolors
- Students create artwork that showcases original characters in their own cartooning style

ART FOCUS®: Drawing (Grades 3-5)
Designed for students who want to focus on learning technical skills in the drawing medium. Students will master the elements and principles of art and design through fun and engaging drawing projects.

- Teacher led demonstrations provide technical instruction and hands on guidance
- Students have creative freedom within each project to develop their own concepts and ideas

Designed for students who love working with their hands and are fascinated with the magic of tinkering, creating, building, combining and reusing materials. Students will master the elements and principles of art and design through fun and tactile projects.
- Compelling projects explore clay, wax, plaster, found objects, collage, mixed media and more
- Teacher led demonstrations provide technical instruction and hands on guidance in the use and assemblage of new materials
- Students have creative freedom within each project to develop artworks that embrace their personal interests
